A Visit to Larry O... In London

Friday morning, I made my way to Ciampino airport in Roma and took a 3hr flight to London's Stanstead Airport. I jumped on an easybus, and met Larry O at Baker Street. From there, we took a double-decker bus to Larry's place near the famous King's Cross Station.

After dropping off my things, we took the tube to Picadilly Circus... or as I renamed it... ever-so lovingly... Pick-a-dildo Circus. :)

From there, we went to China Town. Yes... London, unlike Roma, has a Chine Town. Two Points London! As I enjoyed the comfort of a Chinese buffet, I was surprised that I was eating American Chinese food, rather than actual Chinese food.

After lunch, Larry gave me a walking tour of some of London's famous sites. We saw Leicester Square, Trafalfer Square, Big Ben, Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Cathedral, and even Larry's old flat near Queen Victoria. Then we made a quick stop at Starbucks. Mmm... Starbucks. Two more points for London. :)

Once back at Larry's, we watched the greatest movie EVER! CLUE! I fell in love. It was hysterical! Then, we watched some nature show about fish. Being a mud skipper sucks. I think I'd like to be a hippo instead. :)

Later that evening, we went to a bar on Lexington. After the bar, we went to THE BEST KABOB! Though this is actually the name of the restaurant, it actually was the best kabob! It was absolutely delicious! Two more points London.

We concluded the night watching the Gram Norton Show... also hysterical!

Saturday morning we woke up late, and went to have brunch at a pub in Soho. I had the traditional fish and chips, along with some Cidar. It was soooo good! Some homeless man selling the "Big Issue" asked me for money so he can buy drugs and alcohol. lol... Guess you gotta appreciate the honesty. :)

After brunch, we met up with Amanda and Robin to watch the Australia/England Rugby Game at the Sports Bar. We were cheering for Australia. Larry was cheering for England. Australia won. Haha :-P

When the game ended, Larry and I went for a stroll down Paul Maul passed St. James Park and Palace. We also saw the Clarance House where the Princes live. And finally, we saw Green Park, the Victoria Monument, and the ever-so-grand Buckingham Palace. The Queen was even home!

Before our show, we stopped in at another pub for another drink. Boy! Do they drink a lot in London! Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, In between, Before, and After!

Then, the time had come! WICKED! WICKED! WICKED! It was absolutely positively fantastical! The Wicked Witch kicked ass! She was brilliant! Her performance gave the audience chills, and brought many, if not most of us to tears. You go girl! Defy Gravity!

After the show, we stopped in for yet another drink at a pub, and a late night Kebab before bed!

Sunday we woke up late again, and had breakfast/lunch at Pret. I had this yummy duck wrap. It was pretty good. Then from the Angel station, I headed to the London Bridge. Once there, I walked passed the frightful London Bridge Experience, walked along the London Bridge itself, and saw the Tower of London, and the Tower Bridge. Then, I saw Southwark and St. Paul's Cathedrals. I walked passed the Clink Prison Museum, and then managed to get the last tour available for Shakespeare's World Famous, Globe Theater. I really enjoyed it! I even bought some pins!

On the way back to Larry's I also saw Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hinde. Now, they use it to do pirate tours, mainly for school students. Arrrg!

When I got back, we watched a bit of Dazed and Confused, and then made dinner. Larry's flat mates were all cooking around the same time, so we got to try some yummy stuff! Jane made Ox Tail Stew! It was probably one of the yummiest, homiest things I've had while abroad. I was quite impressed.

Around 1:30-2am, I headed off to the airport. My flight was at 6am, which meant I had to be at the airport by 4am... and I had to take two buses to get there. Guess I didn't think this one through very well.

I arrived in Roma around 10am Monday morning. By the time I got through passport controls, and traffic via bus, I had no time to go home. And so, I headed straight to school from Termini station.

Surprise surprise! My first stop was my favorite alimentari to get my turkey and brie sandwich. Five points for Roma! lol

Since I had to meet with Christiano early, he let me stay for the 1pm class. By 2:30pm, I was back at Cipro. I made my way to the supermarket, and then came home to do some laundry. Laundry took forever!!! I was only done around 6-6:30pm! Around 7pm, I made myself dinner.

Menu:
Pasta with 4 cheese sauce, zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, garlic, and chicken.

I was pleased. I also had some champagne. :)

London was lovely, but it's still no Roma. ;)

Signing Off,
Ciao Bella...
